Lister Infant School &Nursery
Safeguarding
Lister Infant School is a safe school.
Parents should be aware that the school
will take any reasonable action to ensure
the safety of its pupils. In cases where the
school has reason to be concerned that
a child may be subject to ill-treatment,
neglect or other forms of abuse, staff have
no alternative but to follow the Liverpool
Child Protection Manual procedures and
inform Social Services of their concern.
Charges
School milk
costs £5 per term. Reception
start paying milk money the term after they
turn five.
Positive Behaviour
Policy
We expect high standards of behaviour
from our pupils. Rewards for good
behaviour are varied and numerous and
are given by all staff e.g Certificates for
recognition of carrying out SEAL messages,
good work, Star of the Week Badges,
Headteacher’s Award, and Golden Time
The School also operates a Merit Shop
reward system. During the week pupils earn
merit points for good behaviour/work. On
Fridays the Merit Shop is open and pupils
may spend the merit amount earned on a
reward (e.g rubber, pencil, book, football).
Items have different merit values and
children are encouraged to save up their
merits and try extra hard to earn the reward
of their choice.
Sanctions for poor behaviour include
proportional loss of Golden Time or minutes
lost at playtime. We ask parents not to
advise their children to ‘hit back’ as any
child hitting is punished equally.
